At Rosemary Omuony Foundation, we recognize that substance abuse is a growing challenge affecting individuals, families, and communities, particularly among the youth and vulnerable groups. Our advocacy on substance abuse focuses on prevention, education, rehabilitation, and community empowerment to reduce the harmful effects of drug and alcohol misuse. Through partnerships with schools, community leaders, healthcare providers, and law enforcement agencies, we aim to create awareness, strengthen resilience, and promote healthier lifestyles.
Our approach is grounded in compassion and inclusivity. We believe that effective advocacy begins with education — equipping individuals with accurate information about the dangers of substance abuse, its social and health consequences, and the importance of making informed choices. The foundation conducts community forums, mentorship programs, and outreach campaigns to engage young people, parents, and community stakeholders in open and supportive dialogue.
In addition, we advocate for stronger community-based interventions and rehabilitation services that provide counseling, life skills training, and alternative livelihood opportunities for recovering individuals. By addressing the root causes such as poverty, unemployment, and peer pressure, we work to prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery and reintegration into society.

The organization was formed in 2020 and registered in 2023 as vehicle for community development for the vulnerable groups in the areas such as Mtongwe, of Likoni Sub Location by its founder Rosemary Omuony. Vision to champion the sustainable development of our local communities. Mission To promote a safe friendly environment that encourages participation, survival, development and growth of vulnerable boys, girls, children with special needs and women through interventions that are community and family focused.
