In Likoni Mombasa we have 156 vulnerable women facing economic challenges in life, as they face unemployment and poverty challenges, so to we decided to start our own our own sewing business as a income generator project and a business for this women.
Sewing Project, a training program that will equips them with income generating skills and a sewing trade trade
At least 60 marginalized women and girls of targeted districts from poor families would be exposed to training techniques of two months for basic and two months for advance sewing designing tailoring course, mainly designed to develop their skills and performance in tailoring.
This training is aimed at teenage girls to learn and develop skills in sewing where they will be enabled to sew reusable sanitary towels, clothes like shirts, trousers, skirts, school uniforms.
They are expected to teach others also after they have learn t and at the same time make their own money to boost on their income through sewing.
It is anticipated that sewing training will provide self-employment to these women/youth girls and also boost their daily income and can enable them to buy necessary utensils and pay school fees and scholastic materials for their children and may be take care of their siblings.
